Ok so this month is bringing us a couple of big new festivals. Anyone in WA complaining that the eastern states get all the good stuff can now eat their words because honestly we've just had it THROWN at us this year! We've already shot through Big Day Out, Soundwave, Summadayze, Good Vibrations, V Festival and probably several others I can't think of right now. Coming up to this time of year usually we can kiss those big festivals goodbye til summertime. But not this year! May has brought us not...

The MusicOz Awards have just flown past leaving several hardworking unsigned bands with a bit more recognition and a wallet full of new contacts. The level of talent Australia has produced is obvious when you see that even the ones you don't hear on the radio every day are out there making quality music. And they're all so friendly! Reluctantly I headed out to the British India gig at the Players Bar on Thursday, knowing full well that the lighting and sound was going to hamper what could have been a great concert. However there was an unexpected highlight to the night in the support band The Novocaines. With a sound reminiscent of The Vines and a stage presence which channels Cedric Bixler-Zavala, The Novocaines burst onto the scene unfortunately to a less than lackluster crowd. Not to be disheartened the band were a great...

Beating the all familiar track through Perth city to the Dillenger Escape Plan concert, I was a little aprehensive about having my head caved in by the lead singers brutal stage antics.
To avoid this, and the risk of missing the concert due to unconsciousness, I hung toward the back of the crowd with an impeded, but safer view of the math-core band.
The safety measure proved effective as the band threw themselves full force into Fix Your...
